Using a Quarterly Check-in Process to Keep Your Contracting Business on Track

Imagine planning a trip somewhere: maybe a day at the zoo with your kids? You get your family in the car and drive off . . . with your eyes closed!
Unimaginable, right? Well in effect, that’s what many of us, business owners, do with our businesses: we set goals for the year and then never really check in to see where we are. To me, that’s the business equivalent of driving with our eyes closed.
If you’ve talked to me or listened to my webinars, you know that I believe in goal setting and planning. It sets your direction for the year and helps make sure that you’re doing the right things to get you where you want to go. But if you never stop to check in to see where you are compared to your goals, you can find yourself badly off course. Driving with your eyes closed! And it can cost you thousands of dollars and waste hours of your time!
So it makes sense to check-in from time to time—to see where you are, to appreciate what’s working and change what’s not. And then move ahead.
This one simple activity of checking in and making mid-course corrections can literally make the difference between success and floundering in your business. No kidding!
So to make it easy for you to stop and check-in with your business, I am giving you the Quarterly Check-in worksheet that I give my clients.
Click here to download the worksheet.
Please, print out the Quarterly Check-in sheet and spend an hour or two this weekend to open your eyes wide, to take stock of where you are and make course corrections to ensure that you keep moving in the right direction in the second quarter.
You’ll be glad you did it!
