We’re Working in Difficult Times

As the coronavirus has swept the nation and the world anxiety and frustration have risen for business owners everywhere. Many of you may feel like you’re “pushing a boulder up a hill” and that if you don’t keep pushing every moment of every day, your business will collapse. This is an unprecedented time for all of us, so it’s time to take a breath, forgive yourself, and press forward.

Asking for Help is Not a Sign of Weakness

We need support in times like this. All of us do. Though you may feel like you need to save the day for your company by yourself, relying on your support system is a sign of strength. If you don’t have a support system, this is the time to create or join one. A lot of local associations are putting out excellent resources to help you including articles and webinars. You can also look for a friendly face in your industry, an accountability buddy, to challenge you and support you. They need your help too. None of us are in this alone. Whether you talk to your spouse, a friend, a coach, or even a new peer group, seeking support in times of strain is essential.

Take a moment to write down the names of a few people who you think can help support you in some way. We’re all coping with these strange times together, so this is the time to reach out so that we can all move forward together.
